About Us
In a world of rapid change and controversial issues, "PAN-UTOPIA 2100: An Interactive Utopia" provides a forum for reflection on the future, by opening a window on the year 2100, a date distant enough so that plans can be drawn up, solutions devised and dreams fulfilled.
"PAN-UTOPIA 2100: An Interactive Utopia" invites schools to join the League of Utopian Schools and to design an alternative society set on an imaginary island.
Schools all over the world are joining the League. So:
Create an island.
Give it a name.
Put it on the map.
Submit it to PAN-UTOPIA 2100!
You’ll then be an official member of the League of Utopian Schools and your island will be able to engage with other utopian islands on a global level.
For more information on how to participate, go to Design your own utopia.
And don’t forget: act local, think global… even in 2100!
“PAN-UTOPIA 2100: An Interactive Utopia" is part of the activities of the research groups on Utopian Studies of the University of Porto (hosted by the R&D Units ILCML - Institute for Comparative Literature Margarida Losa and CETAPS- Centre for English, Translation and Anglo-Portuguese Studies). This project is also supported by the Utopian Studies Society/Europe, the Reitoria da Universidade do Porto, and Oxford University Press, in addition to other partners.
